Looking for an easy way to identify your perfect hat size? Our hat experts created this guide full of tips + hat tricks to help you find the right fit. No matter if you keep to traditional hat wearing or enjoy having the freedom of versatile hair-dos, we know where to begin.
HOW TO MEASURE YOUR HAT SIZE
There are two primary methods of measuring your hat size + are based on the style in which you wear your hat - Traditional (flat and parallel to the ground) vs. Halo (a bit tipped back on your head, giving more of a halo illusion.)
For best results, we recommend taking both styles of measurements + then use the larger of the two measurements to determine your hat size.
+ TIP: We recommend using a soft measuring tape to find the circumference of your head in centimeters. If you don't have a soft measuring tape, wrap a string around your head and take your measurements from the string against a ruler or construction measuring tape.
METHOD 1 - THE TRADITIONAL STYLE
What: This is the traditional style of wearing a hat. The front tip of the hat is low on the forehead, just above your eyebrows, causing the hat to sit nearly level with the ground.
How: To measure for traditional styling, start by wrapping your measuring tape from just above your eyebrows + then around the back of your head, keeping the line parallel to the ground.
METHOD 2 - THE HALO STYLE
What: This is the halo method of wearing a hat. The front of your hat is raised up + the hat sits on the back of your head, showing more of the underside to your brim in a halo-like fashion.
How: To measure for halo style, you will start by wrapping your measuring tape from just above your eyebrows + then around the back of your head, trailing the line down to connect at the top of your neck, in a slightly sloped manner.
